Aikido History in Shirataki, Hokkaido – Japan

AiKiDo O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba lived for eight years in the village of Shirataki. At that time he donated money and helped to raise funds for the creation of this Shrine. It is a very valuable Sanctuary in which the traces of Ueshiba still remain. The period in which O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba lived in Shirataki was crucial in the creation of Aikido because he met Sokaku Takeda in Engaru
