The site on which this stone monument is placed was owned by founder of AiKiDo O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba and in which he built his house. The eight-year period that O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba lived in the village of Shirataki had an important influence on the creation of Aikido becuse in Engaru he met Sokaku Takeda.
